How to figure the cost of your siding job
Hardie Siding
Carpentry work is a extra charge
We use treated wood stock
Lets look at 5/16 inch x 4 ft x 8 ft Hardie boards
They come in solid, stucco and 8 inch groove patterns
The old siding is torn off and hauled off
An approved Hardie wrap is always installed 1st (behind your Hardie boards)
The new hardie boards are installed using ring shank nails ( they hold better than any other)
Hardie trim boards or ACQ 40 year treated boards are installed
Chalk with lifetime chalk
Paint with lifetime latex Fortis Paint ( you can choose from 1000's of colors)
Cost is $550.00 a 100 square feet ( minimum job is 200 square feet)
Cost of chimney's are more
2 story are an additional $30 a 100 square feet
Note: waste is rule of thumb 15%
When measuring do not take out windows or doors ( the trim and labor is as expensive as the board usually for these windows and doors areas)
PI square gable ends 1/2 width times height will give you an accurate measurement of square feet.
Extra cost of Texas windstorm WPI- or city permits not included
Example a Norex Engineering Texas Windstorm WPI- certificate cost $200.00

Cost of soffit and fascia
Tear off old cornice (soffit ,fascia and haul off)
Cost is $20 linear foot up 24 inches width with 6 inch fascia. 8 inch or 10 inch fascia is an additional charge.
Lifetime chalk
Install new Hardie soffit and fascia
Paint with Latex Satin Lifetime Fortis paint
Sometimes you may cover existing soffit or fascia and reduce your cost considerably
Horizontal lap siding
Types are select cedarmill, beaded cedarmill,colonial roughsawn, and rustic cedar
Tear off old siding haul off (customer may save money if old siding is smoothe and in good shape by covering it with new siding)
Install Hardie approved house wrap
Install new Hardie lap siding
Lifetime chalk
Install new trim boards
Paint with Glidden Lifetime latex Fortis Paint ( Includes 2 colors one for trim and one for walls)
1st story cost is $680.00 a 100 square feet
2nd story cost is $720.00 a 100 square feet
Chimney is a higher cost depending on size

Double 5 inch vinyl siding is $35.00 more per 100 square feet
Triple 4 inch is $35.00 more per 100 square feet
Rule of thumb is 15% waste of materials
Wood siding cedar or treated wood
Cost will vary as the price of cedar and treated wood siding goes up and down
It is higher than Hardie siding especially cedar
We use Glidden Professional Fortis latex lifetime paint
We use Behr stains semi transparent or solid
We use ring shank nails ( on the coast stainless ring shank)
